When Should I Go to a Low T Center?

A Low Testosterone Center is a medical facility that allows patients with low levels of testosterone, or hypogonadism, to undergo treatment. The goal is to restore the body’s natural production of testosterone within the normal range, hence the name. Some symptoms of low testosterone levels are menstrual irregularities or loss, fatigue or lack of energy, slow muscle mass growth in children and adolescents, and psychological disturbances such as depression. Symptoms typically start in men up to about age 40. In this article, we will focus on when one should go to a low t center.

When You Should Go to a Low T Center

A common misconception is that only men who are experiencing symptoms can acquire treatment. However, testosterone levels naturally decline after a man reaches 30 years of age, so it is widely advised that men over 30 should receive an annual checkup to monitor the levels of their testosterone. If it is found to be lower than normal, then you might need to go to a low t center for treatment. Another myth states that only those who suffer from obesity or cigarette smoking should go to a low t center. While it is true that these health conditions can cause low testosterone, there are a number of men who do not suffer from either of these conditions and still suffer from low testosterone.

For men with an average BMI, it is recommended that you visit the center at age 40 or older. For those who are extremely obese, that should be done in the 30s already. For those with a BMI of 18.5 or below (underweight), 35 years old is the earliest age. If you suffer from some symptoms that are commonly associated with low testosterone, you should contact your doctor as soon as possible. These symptoms are: lack of energy, extreme fatigue, erectile dysfunction, loss of muscle mass, depression, and irritability. If you have recently gone through any serious injury or illness that resulted in surgery or lengthy bed rest, there is a great chance that this caused your testosterone levels to drop significantly. Testosterone levels are measured in a low t center and can be around 100, 200, or 300 ng/dl. If your levels are normal, then you can wait until your levels have gone down to at least this level. However, if they are not yet there, then you should go to the center and have a treatment done as soon as possible. You should also discuss with your doctor about supplemental or alternative treatments for the symptoms of low testosterone.

Examples are:  low-calorie diets, weight loss, and erythropoietin injections. As a man ages, his testosterone levels begin to fall. This is typically accepted as part of the aging process, but a number of men feel that this is not what they experience. What was once a dip in the level of testosterone becomes more severe with time and can result in infertility problems and loss in muscle mass. If you observe these symptoms, it could be an indication of low testosterone. If so, you should go to a low t center as soon as possible. If any medical conditions damage our testosterone levels, it can be quickly reversed with treatment in a low t center. If we have recently undergone any surgery or lengthy periods of bed rest for any reason, there is a chance that this damage has occurred.

If so, it is recommended to visit the center and have your levels checked immediately. If you are experiencing low testosterone from other causes such as hypogonadism, and you have not had the normal treatment for this condition, then a visit to a low t center is highly recommended. In conclusion, if you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, or if you notice that your testosterone levels have dropped significantly, there is a great chance that they need to be corrected. If so, make an appointment at a low t center, and you will be cleared to start treatment immediately. If you want to visit a low t center, contact us now at 205-352-9141.
